Since early childhood, I have been fascinated by cake design. As a little girl I drew with Royal icing more often than with pencil and paper and would eagerly help with family festive preparations. As my mum and grandma were baking away in the kitchen, I lovingly spent long hours patiently spreading jam and cream on cooled goodies. As years passed, I ventured into more challenging creations.
It wasn’t until I finished my tertiary education and while organizing my own wedding in Sydney that I discovered the magic of chocolate ganache and elegant fondant covered cakes.
I completed a wide range of cake decorating courses run by world-renowned cake decorators, in 2009 I started a successful blog and continue to run popular cake decorationg courses. I also regularly cooperate with various media.
You can meet me at numerous gourmet food events throughout the year such as Wedding Cake of the Year, Prague Food Festival, Apetit Picnic, and more.
My first book on cake decorating was published in December 2013.
This stunning portrait, created for my book and based on a photograph by talented Czech photographer David Turecky (Grove Studio), is by the amazing Australian illustrator Kelly Smith.
